Top Ten Things to Consider

  1. Make sure you receive a clear and concise contract that outlines what you expect from your florist and vise versa, be sure you see where your money is going per piece.

  2. Consider flower fragrance, the fragrance can set the mood just as much as the color scheme can.

  3. Since, you want you’re bouquet to look the best that it can during your walk down the aisle, be sure to ask your florist what the proper care for your bouquet is between the time she drops it off and the time you meet your groom.

  4. Consider your florists opinion when expressing your ideas, because of their industry knowledge they may know something you don’t.

  5. For best availability of flowers, start your search for a florist six months before your wedding and try to book at least four months in advance, some flowers take longer to order in. Also, this gives your florist the ability to check the venue and be sure your floral arrangements will not clash with your reception room.

  6. Make sure you get what you want by vividly describing or showing pictures of the flowers for your bouquet, boutonnieres and other floral arrangements.

  7. According to industry standards, the average floral bill ranges between $800-$3,000 or 10% of your wedding budget, so make sure you’re getting the most for your money, and the work is quality.

  8. Floral design can turn a room from ordinary to extraordinary with ease and it doesn’t have to be expensive. (Ask me how)

  9. Be sure your flowers are organically colored to be sure the color doesn’t rub off.

  10. To cut costs, choose flowers that are specific to the season and the region, also if your wedding is by a flower giving holiday (mother’s day, valentine’s, etc.), be prepared to pay a higher price.
